Millions of years ago, the Abasha River cut through the soft limestone rocks and created a whole world—emerald waterfalls, stone corridors, bridges, and deep gorges. You'll visit the Martvili Canyon, descend into the famous Prometheus Cave, and admire its vaults from a boat. And you'll take home vivid memories of Georgia.
Martvili Canyon
Walking trails and suspension bridges lead along sheer cliffs. A boat ride will reveal the very view that makes people return here—a narrow canyon and light filtering through the foliage.
Prometheus Cave (Kumitstavi)
The underground route passes through six halls. Stalactites descend from the ceilings, stalagmites rise up to meet you, and the lighting transforms the stone vaults into a fairytale.
During a short walk along the underground river, you’ll admire the reflection of lanterns in the water and listen to the silence.
You’ll learn:
Who the Dadiani princes were and what their connection is to the canyon
Why the temperature in Prometheus Cave is always the same
